Hi,
My name is Samantha Aprea. I just wanted to say that I love San Silverio Shrine. My family has been a part of this community for generations. I love spending time up there with my family and friends, and the food is always amazing. I love it, and I hope one day I'll be able to bring my kids up to the Shrine and show them how much work and dedication people put into it.
Thank you.
Samantha Aprea

I am trying to find out information about my family. My mother, Antointette Pacifico, passed away 6 years ago and I want to keep my heritage alive for my children and future generations to come.

Her father was Catello "John" Pacifico who came from Ponza (his mother was Rafaela D'Arco and his father ??? Pacifico) in the early 1900's. His sister was Mary Pacifico who married Silverio De Luca. They had a son, Lenny and Silverio. Silverio was married to Santina. She passed away 5 years ago. They lived in the Bronx. My grandfather used to go to the "Societa di San Silverio club"  to play cards for years.
I was hoping someone might have some knowledge of my extended family.
Thank you and God Bless.
Corinne

(If you have any info to give Corinne please give them to the webmaster and we will pass them on)

Ciao,
My name is Catherine Galano Credle. My grandfather, Joe Galano was born in Ponza in 1896 and came to the US in 1915-16. I will be going to Italy 16 June 2007. It will be my first trip abroad and I plan to take a day trip to Ponza. I have heard many stories growing up about San Silverio. Hopefully, I will be able to join the celebration while in Ponza! I would also like to bring my children to Dover Plains to see the Shrine and have them learn an important part of their heritage.
Love to all,
Cat

Ciao ! This is Carmine Aprea's grand-daughter Samantha. I would like to say that San Silverio has been in my life since the day that I was born. I think that it's a great place to gather together and be with friends and family but something doesn't seem right. As a teenager, sometimes i dread going to Dover Plains because there is nothing there to actually entertain me. Yeah there is a pool and a baseball/soccer field but you actually need people and kids to play those sports. And that's why I am actually starting to gather up a bunch of my friends and start going more often, because all i ever hear is that there isn't any "youth" at San Silverio so I am here to help with that. Well I gotta go . See ya Later. Samantha Aprea ( R.I.P. Daddy. Ti Amo sempre<33 )

Fantastic website...I havent seen this updated version yet and Im very impressed. I just noticed that its a little diificult browsing through our picture gallery without a thumbnail view. I thought maybe a catagory thumbnail view would be easier navigating through our gallery. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I attended this years Dinner and Dance and we had a wonderful time. Maestro's has declined over the past 2 years but the spirit of the evening and being with old friends, made the evening a success. As usual with events of this magnitude it is difficult to make everyone happy. I think the majority of people had a good time. Many thanks to the Dinner and Dance committee for a job well done. We look forward to next years Dinner and Dance. P.S. The pictures of the evening on the web site are wonderful! Warmest Regards, Marie Tricoli

In regard to the comments listed below, I would just like to state that a lot of time and effort was put into this event regardless of all the curve balls we were thrown. We had a very nice crowd this year and I am happy the we had good attendance. We had more prizes this year than any other year including a door prize, a silent auction and a live auction, which brings together 10 prizes. Because Maestro's did switch the date on us, we lost the band, Pane & Cioccolate, and this DJ volunteered to provide the music for free at last minutes notice and was willing to play any appropriate requests. As for choosing a new location, we did research and Maestro's is still the best fit for us for time and location. If anyone can make any suggestions, including providing prices and options, they will be accepted, but I assure you, that we did look elsewhere. As for the singers, I am not sure what other live entertainment would be appropriate for a dinner dance with a very mixed age group. It was one of the youngest crowds that we have had and the dance floor was always full with a variety of people. We appreciate your criticism and I invite you to continue to share your opinions so that we can make San Silverio Shrine's events enjoyable for everyone. - Sincerely, Maria Feola, Dinner Dance Co-Chairperson

I’m writing on behalf of my family who attended the San Silverio Dinner this past Saturday night: My family is one of most dedicated members you have, they respect and do as much as they can for the society. For a dinner to take place this past weekend it was a disgrace. The dinner itself was the most disorganized event ever (next to the one that you had a few years ago that had over 500 people packed). Maestros is no longer the place it use to be, the service was horrible, the food was disgusting and the music was outrageously horrible!! How can you hold an event when the population of people there, who are older than 50 enjoy a night out and you have a DJ with HORRIBLE sound quality, BAD selection of music, and your choice of ENTERTAINMET (singers)? We have been to many dinner dances with exceptional music, great door prizes (you only had 5???) – You had more than 200 people, how come raffle was only a selection of 5???? Give more of a variety! Consider a NEW location (Villa Barone, Marina Del Rey, etc??) a place whose reputation isn’t destroyed and WE can have a night out, Consider a real DJ/Band for MUSIC (REAL LIVE ENTERTAINMENT!) And LESS TALKING – organize your speakers in a better manner! MORE PRIZES! - Disappointed and annoyed (and we are not the only ones)
